Native ancestors believed the night was filled with good dreams and bad. Dreamcatchers were used to attract the good dreams while catching the bad in the center web. The good spirit dreams float down the sacred fringe flowing into the psyche of the dreamer while the bad spirit dreams are held in the center web, which then transforms all negative energy into positive energy and burns off the remaining evil in the first light of the sun.
